Bringing back the local club vibe with the very best late 80's & early 90's dance, RnB & soul classics in a retro night
Identifying a need for a retro nightclub themed night rather than yet another traditional Charity ball, Reach For a Star decided to arrange a fundraising event based upon the historic King’s Lynn nightspot Manhattans II.
Approaching the former owners, the Charity was surprised to see that the brand was no longer trademarked or copyrighted and that the name and logo could not only be replicated but also registered as a trademark by the Charity.
After getting some of the former Manhattans DJ’s involved and committed to the night, Reach For a Star asked the "First Lady Of House" Kym Mazelle to appear live, returning to Manhattans in King's Lynn for the first time since a Chicago House nightclub tour alongside the likes of Marshall Jefferson.
With the first Manhattans Nights a resounding success, Manhattans Nights 2016 proved even bigger and better with our now regular DJ line up of Phil B, Andy Martin, DJ DC and Les Miller and with personal appearances by "The Queen Of Rave" Rozalla and Piano House legend Davos.
Manhattans Nights 2017 saw the return of Davos, playing with house music pioneers K-Klass in a live performance many considered to be the best Manhattans Nights P.A yet.
The 2017 Manhattans Nights saw the total raised to over £6000 over the three events.
Firmly becoming a local favourite, Reach For a Star intends to continue with the Manhattans Nights brand in a number of local events
